The Great Salt Lake Yacht Club is partnering with Grow the Flow, who is hosting a sailing regatta on the Great Salt Lake on June 15th to fundraise and bring awareness to the rescue efforts of the lake. This is sure to be an exciting event for all ages, and we hope you can attend!
Event Details
- When? June 15th, 2024, 10am-dusk
- Where? The Marina on the Great Salt Lake
- What? A sailboat race and festival featuring free family fun for all ages
Registering for the event will automatically get you enrolled into a drawing for prizes such as ski passes, spa treatments, sailing lessons, a fly-fishing trip, and more!
Parking
Parking at Great Salt Lake State Park will be very limited to ensure space for the sailors, sponsors, and partners of the event. Because of this, Grow the Flow has partnered with Saltair to offer free overflow parking at their facility down the road from the park. They will be offering a free shuttle to and from the event every 15-20 minutes.
Goals of the Event
- Bring people to the shores of the Great Salt Lake – What better way to raise awareness than to show people the actual, physical state of the Great Salt Lake?
- Foster unity among different groups of Utahns – Bringing people together in the same space will raise morale in the state and enrich relationships with each other and the lake.
- Fun! – We want families from all over Utah to gather at the lake, watch the race, and have fun. We are also bringing in a variety of vendors to add to the festivities, including food trucks, sports booths, a band, giveaways–there will even be a cardboard boat race for any attendees!
